I’m a graphic designer based in Salt Lake City. I came to graphic design after years of other academic, professional, and extracurricular pursuits. This background has encouraged me to find inspiration for my designs in archival research, textiles, literature, and much more. While I have a strong respect for and appreciation of history and tradition, I also embrace novelty, whimsy, and innovation.
I based my logo on a fabric block print I made about a decade ago. The printed fabric varied in appealing ways, and I am still drawn to the inconsistencies in the prints and the underlying texture of the fabric. I sought to recreate this hexagon for my logo and give it a similar weathered, stamp-like quality. For my name, I chose a typeface evocative of grainy stamped labels one might find in an archive.
My branding has personally significant meaning; it represents the meandering, weathered trajectories my life has taken.
